Minor in Gender and Sexuality Studies

Download as PDF

Full Description

Gender and Sexuality Studies focuses on gender and sexuality as primary categories of human experience. The intersectionality of this experience, combined with how they are expressed uniquely in each individual and across cultures, makes gender and sexuality ideal sites for the rigorous inquiry and respectful dialogue that characterize a well-rounded liberal arts education.

The transdisciplinary Gender and Sexuality Studies curriculum allows students to examine the roles that gender and sexuality play across a wide variety of methodological and social environments. The program includes academic perspectives from the social sciences, humanities, and the natural sciences. This minor pairs well with any major and provides a particular focus for students seeking to understand the roles of gender and sexuality in various contexts. Our students pursue careers in education, social work, public policy, health and medicine, religion, psychology, and nonprofit and for-profit organizations.
