Degree Requirements
Minor requires 20 credits beyond ENGL-111, 12 credit upper division.
Students are encouraged to create their own experience. Faculty in English welcome the opportunity to advise students on designing a minor to suit their interests and aims.
Students who intend to teach at a secondary level and who want an English minor are advised to take the following courses:
ENGL-312: The Teaching of Writing (3 credits)
ENGL-314: English Language and Linguistics (4 credits)
ENGL-323: English Literature I OR ENGL-324: English Literature II (4 credits)
ENGL-325: American Literature I OR ENGL-326: American Literature II (4 credits)
