The objectives of this course are: a) Explore a theology of proclamation that recognizes preaching is a ministry if the whole congregation; b) Exhibit a deeper understanding of the role and needs of the hearer; c) Employ pre-sermon activities that engage the hearers; d) Engage various elements of biblical exegesis for preaching; e) Craft and preach a sermon consistent with and flowing from biblical exegesis; f) Cultivate an imagination for faithful and creative preaching; and g) Begin to build a library of resources for the preaching task.
