TMEDĀ 1015. Christian Education. (1).

This course is an introduction to education leadership in congregations. It begins with introductions by the participants, moves to an exploration of the term, "knowing," discusses methods of evaluating curriculum, and considers the various ways that social sciences contribute to our understanding of learning and teaching in religious contexts. There is also a focus on supporting the faith of adults and a look at the leadership challenges in multi-generational congregations. Goals for the course: 1. to gain an understanding of the theory and practice of education in the congregation as a teaching/learning community. 2. to develop conceptual frameworks for developing and assessing the adequacy of various kinds of religious education. 3. to introduce resources and ideas to enliven conceptions of religious education. 4. to reflect on your personal learning history.
